False Sense of Hope
For the next few months, I will choose a card from the African American Tarot deck as a prompt for my blog posts. Let’s see what spiritual insight I come up with!
2 of Swords + The Stars
I am in the process of writing my third book. Drumming up the discipline to write consistently has been no easy task. Yet, I keep pushing. At one point, the main character comes to a crossroads. She is faced with a major decision but has a great deal of confusion as to how she should proceed. This decision can and will alter the course of her life. Her mind says one thing and her heart says another. Her confusion stems from a false sense of hope. Hope keeps her from seeing the truth that is right before her eyes. She hopes circumstances will change enough to fit her vision of how things should be. Chances are they won’t.
When we ignore the truth and replace it with our hopes/dreams we choose to live in illusion. It is okay to be hopeful, it is not okay to use hope as a crutch. Are you accepting the truth of a situation or are you simply hoping things will change? Hope doesn’t alter reality, actions do.
